Quick Tips

We’ve created a quick list of tips to keep in mind as you balance the stresses and joys of planning your wedding day. These tips are based on our experiences as a married couple and photo team. We’ve both seen, and been through ourselves, this crazy journey that is the road to “the best day of your life”! And while your day should be everything you’ve dreamed of, there’s no reason you need to say goodbye to your budget (or sanity) on the way there.

  • Decide what’s important to you.

    • Choose three or four aspects to your wedding you just couldn’t imagine living without. Whether it’s flowers, music, the dress, or venue, your wedding should be an occasion YOU enjoy!

  • Get creative.

    • Choosing a few items to spend your precious budget on, means figuring out where you can save elsewhere. When it comes to beautiful decor, DIY is your friend! Whether from wedding blogs, Pinterest, Instagram, or your BFF, crafty and affordable options to ensure your wedding stuns are only a click away — and a stop at your local craft or thrift stores can do wonders for inspiration and resources!

  • Book!

    • Once you’ve decided what your priorities are, what you’ll be spending money on, and what you’ll be doing yourself, be sure to reserve your booking! Photography/videography, floral services, make-up/hair bookings fill up fast, and usually about a year in advance. Booking your services early will save you time, money, and stress in the long run.

DJ Rowsheen is a Minneapolis based DJ spinning tunes everywhere from festivals to gallery showings. We’re a little biased on this recommendation, Roisin was the DJ for our wedding and we couldn’t have asked for a better one.
