Storyteller Co is a wife-and-wife team of queer, LGBTQ+ wedding photographers creating documentary-meets-editorial wedding photography on digital and film, with companion Super 8mm films. On a lively Wednesday at St. Paul City Hall, G & A - both devoted adult Ojibwa language teachers who first met at work - tied the knot surrounded by community in every sense of the word. With two close friends and fellow educators standing as their witnesses and the bride’s sister beaming nearby, the couple said “I do” just steps away from a bustling city council meeting; attendees holding signs paused to cheer as the newlyweds made their joyful way through the crowd. The celebration spilled into the streets en route to the St. Paul Public Library for portraits, where passersby offered congratulations - and one woman, mid-FaceTime call, turned her phone so her grandma could admire the bride’s stunning dress, handmade “in like a month,” she laughed. The day ended at Alma with cocktails at the bar before dinner, a perfect, cozy close to a wedding woven seamlessly into the fabric of their city and community.
