Storyteller Co is a wife-and-wife team of queer, LGBTQ+ wedding photographers creating documentary-meets-editorial wedding photography on digital and film, with companion Super 8mm films. Tucked into the woods in the middle of St. Paul, Minnesota, this laid-back backyard wedding began at the couple’s hexagonal dome before crossing the way to a meadow at Henry Park for a brief ceremony with their dog. The bouquet — the inspo for which was “like a meadow threw up”, perfection I know — was pared back just a touch, enough to fit the bride holding it, with a neighbor friend’s spoon tied in among the flowers as something borrowed. Afterward, everyone wandered back through the woods for fruit water, sangria, banh mi, and egg rolls in the couples' backyard, surrounded by flowers and dried citrus strung by the bride's sisters and friends, towering trees, and gorgeous greenery. It felt like stumbling upon a woodland oasis, and the wedding itself so wonderfully grounded: personal, unfussy, and centered on being together, at home in nature, and surrounded by their closest people.
