Vintage Las Vegas Elopement Inspired Engagement Session On 35mm, Super 8 Film, & Digital

Grandpa’s Pool House was a venue that had been on my vision board for about 8 months around the time Olivia & Jackson’s inquiry arrived, and when these two funky sweeties slid into our inbox with the most incredible vision of a GPH engagement session & plans for a spring Minneapolis wedding, you can bet we started swooning (and certainly haven’t stopped since)!

After a few months of planning and anxious awaiting, and about an hour packed into Jackson & Olivia’s (actually very roomy) RAV4, we arrived from Minneapolis to Stanchfield, MN — home of the infamous teal dream of an MCM Pool House.

Immediately the home’s bold spa teal color, and top window adorned with mannequin legs, marked the spot. This shoot, and time spent at this special 70’s glam inspired home, was long awaited by us all. The anticipatory silence was pervasive upon the opening of the Palm Springs reminiscent, lime green front doors — intermingled only with awed gasps and under-our-breath swears. 70’s Vegas perfection indeed, it fills every room and crevice of the home.

We unpacked our massive variety of film and digital camera gear, while our sweet couple gathered their own props intermingled with those belonging to the house, and got into their first choice of session outfits. The two hours of captures flew by way faster than anticipated, and our hopes for the engagement session, couple, and location were far exceeded! Safe to say their special nuptial celebrations will be just as love-filled and fun, and we can hardly wait to capture it all!
